Position 

We are looking for a Remote Pharmacist to join a growing pharmacy team on a 13-week temp-to-perm assignment.

This role combines prescription verification and direct patient care, with an approximately 50/50 split between clinical prescription review and patient consultations. The Pharmacist will communicate with patients by phone, provide medication counseling, address questions or concerns, and work with prescribers to resolve prescription-related issues.

The pharmacy operates seven days a week between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM EST.

• 8:00 AM4:00 PM EST
• 9:00 AM5:00 PM EST
• 10:00 AM6:00 PM EST
• 11:00 AM7:00 PM EST

Candidates are welcome to share their preferred shift; however, shift placement is not guaranteed. Final scheduling will be based on operational needs, and the hiring manager will discuss shift preferences during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations by phone and provide clear medication counseling and education.
• Respond to patient questions regarding prescriptions, refills, medication administration, potential side effects, and adherence.
• Manage both inbound and outbound patient communications.
• Review new and refill prescriptions for appropriate therapy, dosing, contraindications, and potential drug interactions.
• Complete pharmacist verification of prescriptions before medications are dispensed.
• Confirm medication, dosage, quantity, and labeling accuracy within a high-volume fulfillment environment.
• Communicate with prescribers and medical offices to obtain clarification and resolve issues affecting prescription processing.
• Assist with prescription intake, processing, and transfers.
• Follow prescriptions through the transfer process to ensure successful completion.
• Partner with pharmacy staff and leadership to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Consistently uphold pharmacy standards for accuracy, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Active Idaho Pharmacist license required, or willingness to obtain/register for Idaho licensure.
• Candidates may work remotely from anywhere in the United States as long as the Idaho licensure requirement is met.
• Previous Pharmacist experience required.
• Retail, specialty, or mail-order pharmacy experience preferred.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and patient-care skills
• Comfortable conducting telephone consultations.
• Strong attention to detail and clinical decision-making abilities.
