Inpatient Pharmacist in Newland, NC

A healthcare facility in Newland, NC is seeking two Inpatient Pharmacists for a 13-week contract beginning Monday, November 9. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists with a minimum of one year of inpatient experience who are licensed in North Carolina and currently reside more than 40 miles from the site.

Location:

• Newland, NC (approximately 2 hours from Charlotte and Greensboro)

Schedule:

• Days/Evenings shift
• No shift will extend past 9 PM

Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service to healthcare team members both in-person and via phone
• Verify medication orders, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness while checking for patient allergies, drug interactions, and disease state considerations
• Review and confirm home medications against medication reconciliation reports
• Provide consults on dosing, collaborating with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals as needed
• Verify IV admixtures for accuracy and compliance with USP 797/800 guidelines to ensure patient safety

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
• Current NC pharmacy license in hand
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system is required
• Must live more than 40 miles away from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
