Travel Retail Pharmacist in Niagara Falls, NY

A full-time Staff Pharmacist role is available in an outpatient retail pharmacy setting based primarily in Cooperstown, New York, with occasional coverage required at nearby locations. This contract position involves a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.

This pharmacy operates a high-volume outpatient retail service, filling approximately 1,100 prescriptions weekly. The practice currently staffs two pharmacists daily, and this opening is for a second pharmacist position. The role offers a focused scope with no sterile compounding or chemotherapy responsibilities. Key services include a Meds to Beds program supporting hospital patients and immunization provision. Pharmacy operations are managed through the PioneerRx system, while EPIC is used for demographics and insurance.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Participate in the Meds to Beds program ensuring timely delivery to hospital patients
• Provide immunization services as required
• Deliver exceptional customer service maintaining the pharmacys community reputation
• Cover Oneonta and Delhi locations occasionally for vacation or sick coverage

Desired Qualifications:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy settings; high-volume dispensing is preferred
• Familiarity with PioneerRx pharmacy management system preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system preferred
• Immunization certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Flexibility to travel occasionally to surrounding locations for coverage
