Join a dynamic acute care pharmacy team providing essential inpatient services in a reputable hospital setting. This contract opportunity offers four openings for licensed pharmacists in Missouri with a chance to work varied shifts and play a vital role in central pharmacy operations.

Position Highlights:

  • Location: Acute Care Pharmacy, Springfield, MO facility
  • Number of Openings: 4 1 for 1st shift (10-hour shifts, 7 on/7 off schedule) 2 for 2nd shift (10-hour shifts, 7 on/7 off schedule) 1 for 3rd shift nights (7 on/7 off schedule)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks with a strong possibility of extension
  • Required Licensure: Missouri Pharmacist License
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year; new graduates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply
  • EMR System: EPIC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and check medications, including IV preparations, crash carts, kits, prepackaged items, and other hospital pharmacy products using EPIC
  • Coordinate workflow within the central pharmacy to maintain efficient operations
  • Ensure code carts and medication kits are accurately stocked and maintained
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians activities related to central pharmacy workflow, ensuring tasks align with operational priorities
  • Serve as the primary pharmacist overseeing central pharmacy operations, collaborating with other pharmacists primarily engaged in order review within the EHR

Training & Work Environment: A 2-3 week training period will prepare you with skills in product verification and hospital pharmacy processes tailored to your experience. The central pharmacy currently staffs five pharmacists and ten technicians during the day, and a smaller team during evening shifts. You will play a pivotal role in supporting this collaborative team setting.
