Inpatient Pharmacist - Norfolk, VA

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an Inpatient Pharmacist at a dynamic hospital setting in Norfolk, VA. This role offers a chance to apply your clinical expertise in a fast-paced inpatient pharmacy environment undergoing a management transition, providing an engaging and challenging professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Manage IV preparations including pain-controlled analgesia.
• Monitor and assess antibiotics and drug interactions.
• Participate in order entry and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
• Utilize expertise in chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic, and renal dosing (preferred).
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Use EPIC EMR system for accurate patient charting and medication management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application mandatory.
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Strong proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records non-negotiable.
• Experience with IV medications, pain control, antibiotics, and drug interaction.
• Experience in chemotherapy, anticoagulants, and specialized dosing preferred.
• Previous travel pharmacy experience is a plus, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.

Work Schedule:

• Multiple shifts available: Day: 06:30 15:00, 07:30 16:00, 09:00 17:30, 10:00 18:30 Evening: 13:00 21:30, 14:30 23:00 Overnight: 19:30 07:30, 20:30 07:30
