Hospital Pharmacist in Norristown, PA
A unique opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist eager to expand expertise across multiple critical care settings, including the Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), while contributing to the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike larger hospitals where pharmacists may be confined to a single unit, this role offers the chance to diversify clinical experience and grow within a dynamic, multi-unit environment.
This direct-hire position is based in State College, PA, a vibrant area known for its scenic beauty and being home to Penn State University. Assistance with relocation may be offered for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and verify medication orders while reviewing medication profiles for clinical appropriateness.
- Provide clinical services tailored to the needs of patients in the ED and ICU settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during rounds and other patient care activities.
- Monitor drug therapy and conduct pharmacist-managed consults according to established protocols.
- Actively participate in acute patient care scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma cases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
- Completion of PGY1 residency or a minimum of three years of clinical pharmacy experience.
- Current PA pharmacist license, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Experience with Meditech or similar healthcare IT systems preferred.
Schedule:
- Primarily day shifts with variable days and afternoons; 8-hour shifts.
