Travel Inpatient Pharmacist - Oneonta, New York

Join an active inpatient pharmacy team at a well-regarded healthcare network facility in Oneonta, New York. This travel pharmacist opportunity offers a rewarding role providing essential medication management services in a fully equipped hospital pharmacy environment. The 13-week contract begins ASAP and includes a full travel package with housing, meals, and mileage reimbursement.

Location: Oneonta, New York
Employment Type: Travel Contract 13 weeks
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, within department hours (6:30 AM 5:00 PM)
• Shift options include 6:30 AM3:00 PM, 7:00 AM3:30 PM, 7:30 AM4:00 PM, 8:00 AM4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM5:00 PM
• Weekend work generally not expected; occasional every-third weekend rotation possible
• No formal call rotation currently, but 23 nights on-call may be necessary for experienced travelers

Responsibilities:

• Verify and dispense medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Provide oversight and supervision of pharmacy technicians, including sterile compounding processes
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing for medications like vancomycin and aminoglycosides
• Support general inpatient pharmacy workflow and clinical services
• Maintain compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards for sterile compounding, including technician oversight, proper garbing, and competency testing
• Potential float coverage at a nearby hospital in Delhi, NY as needed

Desired Qualifications:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License (mandatory)
• Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (retail/outpatient alone not sufficient)
• Strong sterile compounding background with USP 797 and 800 knowledge
• Comfortable working with Epic EMR and BD Pyxis dispensing systems preferred
• Ability to participate in on-call schedule and float coverage
• BS Pharmacy or PharmD degree required; board certifications not needed
• Willingness to undergo a minimum two-week onsite orientation before independent practice
