Mail Order Pharmacist in Ontario, CA

A specialty/mail order pharmacy in Ontario, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist for a full-time contract position lasting 13+ weeks. This role offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekends off. The pharmacist will play a vital role in providing safe, accurate medication dispensing while collaborating closely with patients and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately fill prescriptions according to practitioner instructions
• Conduct clinical drug screenings to prevent adverse drug interactions
• Counsel patients on medication usage and potential side effects
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, students, and support staff
• Maintain clear, professional communication with patients and healthcare providers
• Ensure accuracy in billing documentation and inventory control
• Facilitate safe, efficient medication fulfillment and delivery processes
• Support new business development and timely service delivery
• Participate in annual pharmacy budget preparation and operational budget management

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current and active California Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history
• Preferred experience in specialty, mail order, retail, or ambulatory pharmacy settings
• Minimum of 1 year retail or ambulatory pharmacy experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and clinic teams
• High attention to detail with strong multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment
• Analytical mindset to support medication safety and operational efficiency
