Inpatient Pediatric Pharmacist in Palo Alto, CA
An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist specializing in hospital inpatient and pediatric care within a prominent 300-bed childrens hospital in Palo Alto, CA. This contract role offers an engaging work environment at one of Northern Californias leading health systems.
Schedule:
- Late 2nd shift starting around 4 PM
- Shift extends through approximately 1 AM to 2 AM
- ASAP start
- Approximately 6-month contract duration
Responsibilities:
- Dispense and manage pediatric medications in a fast-paced inpatient hospital setting
- Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to optimize pediatric pharmacotherapy
- Utilize EPIC software for medication orders, documentation, and pharmacy management
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards related to medication administration
- Monitor patient responses and provide critical input to support clinical decisions
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with inpatient hospital experience
- Prefer candidates who have completed PGY1 pharmacy residency programs
- Consideration also given to those with 1-2 years of experience at large, busy hospital facilities
- Strong knowledge of pediatric pharmacotherapy best practices
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic health record platforms
