Inpatient Pharmacist - Papillion, NE
Join a well-established rehab hospital pharmacy team focused on inpatient care in a specialized setting. With two openings in the Omaha area, this role offers the opportunity to provide essential pharmaceutical services where patient recovery and rehabilitation are the primary goals, without the demands of an emergency room or obstetrics.
Position Details:
- Location: Omaha area, Papillion, NE
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, plus Saturday 8 AM 4 PM with rotating weekends
- System Utilized: Altera Sunrise (training provided)
- Job Type: Contract to hire
Responsibilities:
- Manage and dispense medications including TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) and IV antibiotics
- Support patients primarily located on the rehab unit undergoing therapy sessions of approximately three hours per shift
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize pharmacologic care and support patient rehabilitation efforts
- Demonstrate adaptability to jump into established processes efficiently and contribute to smooth daily operations
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and institutional policies
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Nebraska pharmacist license
- Prior experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy preferred, especially in rehab or specialty units
- Familiarity with pharmacy information systems, with willingness to learn Altera Sunrise platform
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interface with healthcare providers and patients
