Inpatient Pharmacist - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
A hospital inpatient pharmacist role is available on a contract basis beginning August 3rd for a duration of 13 to 26 weeks. This position is located in Philadelphia, PA, and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review medication orders from physicians and extenders for appropriateness, including drug, dose, frequency, and route.
- Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and laboratory data to identify potential clinical conflicts before dispensing medications.
- Manage inventory control to ensure availability and proper storage of medications.
- Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare team members.
- Supervise pharmacy students and technicians in medication preparation, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support continuum of care and discharge planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education required; Doctorate Degree (PharmD) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year hospital experience or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred.
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required.
- Basic Life Support certification preferred.
Schedule:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (5 x 8-hour shifts; 40 hours per week).
