Hospital Pharmacist - Pineville, LA
A 200+ bed community hospital is seeking a skilled pharmacist to join their team on a 13-week contract in Pineville, LA, starting ASAP. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management in a busy hospital environment.
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Rotating schedule with varying hours: 6 AM4:30 PM, 7 AM5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM11 PM
- Every other weekend off
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently with a focus on patient safety
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth daily operations
- Provide consultation and collaboration with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies
- Perform pharmacokinetic assessments to optimize drug dosing
- Utilize healthcare technology including EPIC and Pyxis systems effectively
Desired Qualifications:
- Active licensed pharmacist credential
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis dispensing systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to consult with clinical teams
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to a rotating schedule
