A direct hire opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to support multiple high-acuity units, including the Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), as well as actively participate on the antibiotic stewardship team. This role offers a unique chance to expand your clinical expertise by working across several units, unlike many larger hospitals where pharmacists often specialize on a single floor.

Location: State College, Pennsylvania a vibrant community known for its natural beauty and home to Penn State University. Relocation assistance is available to make your transition smooth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medication order entry, verification, and medication profile reviews to ensure appropriateness and safety.
  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services tailored to specific patient populations within ED and ICU settings.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy.
  • Conduct drug therapy monitoring and pharmacist-managed consults as outlined by protocols.
  • Engage in acute patient care scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma management.
  • Contribute to antibiotic stewardship initiatives to promote safe and effective antimicrobial use.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Postgraduate Year One residency (PGY1) or a minimum of 3 years recent clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience working with Meditech information systems preferred but not required.

Schedule:

  • Primarily day shifts with some variable afternoon coverage.
  • 8-hour shifts offering work-life balance.
