Hospital Pharmacist in Pollock, LA
Join a community hospital pharmacy team serving an active 200+ bed facility in Alexandria, LA. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your hospital pharmacist skills in a fast-paced environment with a dedicated healthcare staff.
Schedule & Location:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Rotating shifts, which may include 6 AM4:30 PM, 7 AM5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM11 PM
- Every other weekend coverage
- Based in Alexandria, LA
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders with precision and accuracy
- Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure optimal workflow
- Collaborating closely with physicians and nursing staff for medication consultations
- Applying pharmacokinetic principles to tailor patient medication plans
- Utilizing hospital pharmacy systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication management
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials
- Prior experience in hospital pharmacy settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Strong communication skills to effectively consult with clinical teams
- Ability to adapt to varied shifts and manage responsibilities independently
