This contract opportunity is for a pharmacist position at a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA, starting ASAP for approximately 13 weeks. The role offers a dynamic and varied schedule, ideal for professionals experienced in hospital pharmacy settings seeking a challenging environment.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule with varied shift times: 6:00 AM4:30 PM, 7:00 AM5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM11:00 PM
• Every other weekend required

Key responsibilities include:

• Verifying medication orders with precision to ensure patient safety
• Supervising pharmacy technicians and overseeing workflow
• Collaborating closely with physicians and nurses to advise on medication therapy
• Managing pharmacokinetics and dose adjustments based on patient needs
• Utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management and documentation

Desired qualifications:

• Current Louisiana pharmacist license
• Recent hospital pharmacy experience demonstrating clinical knowledge
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
