Retail Pharmacist in Roanoke, VA

Licensed Retail Pharmacists are sought for both direct hire and 13-week contract roles in a fast-paced community pharmacy environment. These opportunities involve working closely with patients and pharmacy teams to deliver high-quality medication services in retail settings.

Schedules:

• Day and evening shifts
• Weekday and weekend availability
• Typical retail pharmacy operating hours

Responsibilities:

• Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications
• Counsel patients on medication use, interactions, and side effects
• Perform prospective drug utilization reviews
• Provide immunizations and other pharmacist-administered clinical services as applicable
• Communicate with prescribers concerning medication-related questions
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations at state and federal levels
• Maintain accurate prescription and pharmacy records
• Support pharmacy technicians and team members
• Assist with workflow management and daily operations
• Deliver excellent customer service and patient-centered care

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of practice
• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program
• Previous retail or community pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced pharmacy setting
• Immunization certification preferred and may be required depending on assignment
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
