This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply specialized pharmacy skills in a home infusion environment. You will be responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of prescription medications, ensuring patient safety and compliance with all legal requirements. The position involves both direct patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
  • Monitor patients medication compliance and identify potential over-usage.
  • Ensure prescribed medicines are appropriate and compliant with legal regulations.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision.
  • Offer patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related inquiries.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and OTC medications, including dosage, storage, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related problems.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Arkansas.
  • Proven experience with sterile compounding.
  • Home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy background preferred.
  • CPR certification is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with rotating shifts every third weekend.

This contract-to-hire opportunity lasts for 13 weeks, providing a pathway to a permanent role. Candidates must have a signed agreement prior to start.
