Home Infusion IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacist | Rogers, Arkansas

A pharmacist position is available supporting a home infusion environment in Rogers, AR. This role operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with rotating weekend coverage every third weekend. The assignment is a 13-week contract-to-hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications with accuracy and care.
• Monitor patients medication compliance and identify any patterns of over-usage.
• Ensure medication supplies comply with legal regulations.
• Verify that prescribed medicines are appropriate for patients needs.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously.
• Advise patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer their questions thoroughly.
• Provide guidance on prescription and over-the-counter drugs, including dosage and potential drug interactions.
• Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients in the correct use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications for both internal and external applications, preparing sterile solutions under strict procedural guidelines.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories effectively.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, interns, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related concerns.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Arkansas pharmacy license required.
• Proven experience in sterile compounding.
• Background in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy practice.
• CPR certification is a significant plus.
