This role focuses on delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care in an inpatient hospital setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for a diverse patient population. The pharmacist will play a critical role in reviewing medication orders, preparing and dispensing medications, and supporting clinical staff with drug information and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders, assessing proper dosing, administration routes, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
• Accurately dispense, prepare, and label medications including unit-dose drugs, IV admixtures, sterile compounded products, and controlled substances.
• Prepare sterile compounded medications in compliance with USP standards and facility protocols.
• Provide timely drug information and medication counseling to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Monitor patient medication profiles to detect and resolve potential drug-related problems.
• Assist with managing pharmacy inventory, including medication ordering, receiving, and storage.
• Ensure adherence to New York State and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Participate in medication safety initiatives and quality improvement programs.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and contribute to maintaining a safe, organized pharmacy workplace.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the New York State Board of Pharmacy.
• Previous experience in hospital or inpatient pharmacy settings.
• Proficiency in sterile compounding and IV medication preparation.
