Travel Retail Pharmacist - Schenectady, NY

A well-established outpatient retail pharmacy located in Cooperstown, New York, seeks a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to support its high-volume operations. This full-time contract position offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. While Cooperstown serves as the primary work location, occasional coverage at nearby Oneonta and Delhi sites will be required to cover vacations and sick leave.

This pharmacy fills approximately 1,100 prescriptions weekly and operates with two pharmacists daily, making this an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team focused on quality and efficiency. The facility does not handle sterile compounding or chemotherapy, providing a focused outpatient retail experience. The role supports the Meds to Beds program designed for hospitalized patients and offers immunization services, underscoring a commitment to comprehensive patient care. Technological tools include PioneerRx for pharmacy management and EPIC for patient demographics and insurance processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate and timely dispensing of medications in a high-volume setting
• Participate actively in the Meds to Beds program to enhance patient outcomes
• Provide immunizations and counsel patients on medication use
• Deliver exceptional customer service consistent with client standards
• Occasionally cover shifts at Oneonta and Delhi locations as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare teams utilizing EPIC and PioneerRx systems

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Proven retail or outpatient pharmacy experience with high-volume dispensing preferred
• Familiarity with PioneerRx and EPIC pharmacy management systems is advantageous
• Immunization certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a customer-focused approach
• Flexibility to travel for occasional site coverage
