A six-month contract opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacist to provide night shift coverage at a pediatric hospital. This role requires specialized expertise in hospital and pediatric pharmacy settings, supporting inpatient care for children. The position begins as soon as possible and offers a unique schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, working from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and verify medications for pediatric inpatients in compliance with hospital protocols
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems efficiently
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal medication therapy management for young patients
  • Monitor drug therapies, identify potential interactions or contraindications, and provide clinical guidance
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance throughout all pharmacy operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Texas Pharmacist license
  • Proven experience in hospital pharmacy, especially within pediatric care environments
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record systems
  • Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication safety standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently during night shifts

Schedule & Location:

  • Night shift: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM
  • Work 7 consecutive days on, followed by 7 days off
  • Located in Slaton, Texas
  • Will transition to a day shift role approximately July/August timeframe to cover FMLA through January 2027
