Part-Time Long Term Care Pharmacist Opportunity Slippery Rock, PA
This position offers a rewarding part-time role as a Long Term Care Pharmacist, working 24 hours per week with a Monday through Friday schedule (8 AM 6 PM pharmacy hours). The assignment is initially for one month with the possibility of extension based on performance and mutual fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
- Check blister-packed medications, as well as sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians; provide clinical answers and support.
- Accurately count controlled substances and document them in the perpetual inventory system.
- Inspect emergency medication boxes and verify their contents.
- Utilize operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC for daily pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing within the state of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; Long Term Care (LTC) experience preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity.
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
