Long Term Care Mail Order Pharmacist - Spokane, WA

This 8-week contract opportunity is for a licensed pharmacist with Long Term Care and Mail Order experience. The role operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM in Spokane, WA, delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical services within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient compliance and detect patterns of over-usage.
• Ensure medication supply and prescriptions comply with legal standards.
• Maintain precise confidential patient and pharmacy records.
• Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and answer related questions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and OTC medications including storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
• Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
• Educate on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications as required for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions with adherence to protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify drug-related patient issues and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Washington.
• Experience in Long Term Care, Mail Order, or Retail pharmacy settings is required.
• Strong attention to legal compliance and patient safety.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
