Inpatient Pharmacist | Spring, Texas
A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacist specializing in inpatient hospital care. This role focuses on managing the medication process for patients ranging from pediatric to adult, ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting utilizing EPIC EMR.
Schedule:
- Dayshift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM7:30 PM)
- Rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage medication orders considering patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions to prevent medication errors.
- Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system, ensuring precision and compliance.
- Verify correct dispensing of medications, maintaining a strong record free of errors.
- Deliver medication doses promptly and within clinical guidelines.
- Adhere to strict aseptic technique and infection control practices during preparation of sterile products and ensure all staff comply.
- Participate in annual re-certification for aseptic technique and infection control, achieving a minimum score of 90%.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Must hold an active Texas Pharmacist License.
- ACPE IV Certification required.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system highly desirable.
