This pharmacist position offers the opportunity to provide specialized pharmaceutical care in a home infusion environment. Operating on a contract-to-hire basis for 13 weeks with potential for permanent placement, this role is ideal for professionals skilled in sterile compounding and patient-centered medication management.

Location: Springdale, AR
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 6:00 PM, with rotating every third weekend

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accepting and accurately dispensing prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitoring patient medication adherence and identifying patterns of overuse.
  • Advising patients on proper medication use, possible side effects, and answering medication-related questions.
  • Providing consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
  • Educating patients on medical device handling, such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compounding sterile and non-sterile medications following strict procedural standards.
  • Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Maintaining precise, confidential patient records and managing pharmacy inventory.
  • Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues.
  • Offering adjunct clinical services like smoking cessation programs and monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Arkansas pharmacy license required.
  • Proven experience in sterile compounding and preparation of IV admixtures.
  • Home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy background preferred.
  • CPR certification is a significant advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy law and medication safety standards.
  • Proficient with pharmacy computer systems (CPRx experience a plus).
