Hospital Pharmacist | Stafford, Virginia

A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy services at a large 400-bed medical center in Northern Virginia. This contract position offers the chance to apply your expertise in a fast-paced hospital environment utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems.

Location:

• Northern Virginia region, near Fredericksburg/Stafford, VA

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Primarily 2nd shift coverage during the contract

Responsibilities:

• Verify inpatient medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth operations
• Provide clinical consultations to physicians and nursing staff to optimize medication therapy
• Participate in pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring to enhance patient outcomes
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote safe and effective medication use

Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist licensure in the applicable state(s)
• Experience with hospital inpatient pharmacy functions preferred
• Proficiency with electronic health records, specifically EPIC, and automated dispensing systems like Pyxis
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic setting
