Outpatient Pharmacist | Sylmar, California

A long-term contract opportunity is available for an Outpatient Pharmacist to support a large county health system serving ambulatory care and outpatient clinics.

This role primarily supports hospital outpatient pharmacy services in Sylmar, CA, and welcomes candidates coming from retail pharmacy backgrounds. The health system values pharmacists with a PGY1 residency or approximately two years of current inpatient experience. Candidates should be prepared to interview onsite as part of the selection process.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Flexibility to work first and second shifts primarily, with occasional third shifts required

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately in an outpatient setting
• Verify prescriptions and ensure compliance with health system protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
• Participate in competency evaluations, including a mandatory exam and background check

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with experience in hospital outpatient or inpatient pharmacy
• PGY1 residency preferred or a minimum of two years inpatient experience
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Willingness to work varied shifts as needed
• Ability to pass a competency exam along with a background Livescan check
