Inpatient Pharmacist - Sylmar, CA

A health system is seeking a dedicated inpatient pharmacist to support hospital pharmacy services in Sylmar, CA. This role offers the opportunity to provide critical medication management and ensure patient safety within a busy hospital environment under the Los Angeles County Department of Health System.

This position primarily serves a large public health system featuring multiple outpatient clinics and hospitals. The team prefers candidates who have recently completed PGY-1 residency training, although those without PGY-1 who possess some hospital experience, even as interns, will also be considered.

Location: Sylmar, California

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Flexibility to work all shifts, mainly 1st and 2nd shifts, with occasional 3rd shifts as needed

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for inpatient care
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapies
• Perform clinical assessments and provide drug utilization reviews
• Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Educate staff and patients on medication-related issues

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Recent completion of or progress through PGY-1 pharmacy residency preferred
• Hospital experience, including internships, valued for non-PGY1 candidates
• Strong clinical knowledge of inpatient pharmaceuticals
