Inpatient Pharmacist in Utica, NY

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Pharmacist I Staff Pharmacist specializing in inpatient hospital pharmacy services. This role is based in Utica, NY, and offers an engaging environment to apply your expertise in medication management within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying medication orders for dosing accuracy, interactions, allergies, and contraindications to ensure patient safety. You will accurately dispense, prepare, and label medications such as unit-dose products, IV admixtures, and controlled substances. Preparing sterile compounded products under USP standards and facility protocols will be a key part of your duties. Providing drug information and guidance to healthcare professionals like physicians and nurses is essential for optimal patient care. Monitoring patient medication profiles to identify and resolve drug-related problems, assisting with inventory management, and maintaining compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations are critical aspects of the position. Additionally, you'll support medication safety initiatives, quality improvement programs, and daily pharmacy operations, while supervising pharmacy technicians and maintaining a safe, organized pharmacy environment.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy college
• Active New York State pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience in hospital or inpatient pharmacy settings
• Proficiency in sterile compounding and IV medication preparation
