A contract travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Vail, AZ, offering a dynamic hospital setting with a 7-on, 7-off schedule. This role requires managing medication orders, overseeing pharmacy technicians, and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 7 days on, 7 days off
  • Shifts of 10 to 12 hours
  • Weekdays: 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Weekends: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians ensuring quality and compliance
  • Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication management
  • Apply pharmacokinetics principles to optimize drug therapy
  • Utilize MedHost EMR for documentation and communication

Qualifications:

  • Active Arizona pharmacist license
  • Hospital pharmacy experience including IV medication preparation and administration
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
  • Proficiency with MedHost electronic medical records preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge in hospital pharmacy operations
