Pharmacist - Valencia, Pennsylvania
A part-time opportunity is available for a knowledgeable pharmacist to support long-term care facilities on a contract basis. The position requires 24 hours per week, with pharmacy operational hours Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. This role involves a one-month initial assignment with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
- Check accuracy of blister-packed medications, including both sterile and non-sterile preparations.
- Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance.
- Count and document controlled substances within the perpetual inventory system.
- Inspect emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in pharmacy.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state.
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; experience in long-term care settings strongly preferred.
- Proficient in using QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy operating systems.
- Physical ability to perform duties requiring sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
