Outpatient Pharmacist | Van Nuys, California

This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists seeking to apply their skills in an outpatient hospital pharmacy setting within a large public health system. This long-term contract assignment is located in Sylmar, CA, at a hospital within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System (LACDHS), a well-established network serving numerous ambulatory care and outpatient clinics as well as hospitals.

Location: Sylmar, CA (Van Nuys area)

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Flexible to work primarily first and second shifts, with occasional third shifts as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in the outpatient hospital pharmacy environment
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to support optimal patient care
• Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles
• Participate in competency assessment and maintain professional standards

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with active California license
• Prefer pharmacists with PGY1 residency or approximately 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience
• Retail pharmacy experience welcomed and considered a strong asset
• Ability to pass a mandatory competency exam on first attempt
• Willingness to undergo Livescan background check and agency onboarding process (approximately 4-6 weeks)
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts as assigned
