Outpatient Pharmacist | Van Nuys, California
This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists seeking to apply their skills in an outpatient hospital pharmacy setting within a large public health system. This long-term contract assignment is located in Sylmar, CA, at a hospital within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System (LACDHS), a well-established network serving numerous ambulatory care and outpatient clinics as well as hospitals.
Location: Sylmar, CA (Van Nuys area)
Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts
- Flexible to work primarily first and second shifts, with occasional third shifts as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in the outpatient hospital pharmacy environment
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to support optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles
- Participate in competency assessment and maintain professional standards
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with active California license
- Prefer pharmacists with PGY1 residency or approximately 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience
- Retail pharmacy experience welcomed and considered a strong asset
- Ability to pass a mandatory competency exam on first attempt
- Willingness to undergo Livescan background check and agency onboarding process (approximately 4-6 weeks)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts as assigned
