Inpatient Pharmacist - Van Nuys, California

A hospital inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available in Van Nuys, CA, supporting a prominent county health system known for comprehensive ambulatory care and hospital services. This contract role is ideal for new PGY-1 pharmacists seeking to advance their clinical experience in a hospital setting, though candidates without PGY-1 but with some hospital exposure, including interns, will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify inpatient medications accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
• Monitor drug therapies, assess patient responses, and adjust treatments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards within the hospital pharmacy setting.
• Participate in shift work, primarily covering first and second shifts, with occasional third shifts as required.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Recent PGY-1 residency preferred, but non-PGY-1 pharmacists with relevant hospital experience (including internships) are eligible.
• Strong understanding of inpatient pharmacy operations and medication management.
• Ability to work flexible 8-hour shifts across varying schedules.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.
