LTC Mail Order Pharmacist | Veradale, Washington

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with experience in long-term care, mail order, or retail pharmacy settings. The role involves managing prescription dispensing while ensuring legal compliance and optimal patient care in a regulated pharmacy environment. This contract position runs for 8 weeks, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately accepting and dispensing prescription medications
• Monitoring patient medication adherence and identifying overuse patterns
• Ensuring medicine supply complies with legal and regulatory standards
• Verifying the suitability of prescribed medications for patients
• Maintaining confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation
• Advising patients regarding medication usage, potential reactions, and answering inquiries
• Providing consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions
• Offering patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
• Educating patients on proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
• Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions using proper procedures
• Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Managing inventory levels for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
• Collaborating with healthcare providers to resolve drug-related problems

Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Pharmacist license
• Experience in long-term care, mail order, or retail pharmacy
