This role is ideal for an experienced inpatient pharmacist ready to support a hospital navigating management changes. Candidates must hold an active Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application and bring at least one year of inpatient pharmacy experience. Those with prior travel pharmacy experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Active Virginia pharmacist license (required)
Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience (required)
IV medication preparation and management
Pain control analgesia and antibiotic knowledge
Strong understanding of drug interactions, order entry, and medication order verification
Experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing (preferred)
Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically EPIC charting (required)

Location:

Virginia Beach, VA this position supports inpatient pharmacy services in a hospital setting

Shift Availability:

Day Shifts: 6:30 AM3:00 PM, 7:30 AM4:00 PM, 9:00 AM5:30 PM, 10:00 AM6:30 PM
Evening Shifts: 1:00 PM9:30 PM, 2:30 PM11:00 PM
Overnight Shifts: 7:30 PM7:30 AM, 8:30 PM7:30 AM

Contract Details:

13-week assignment starting September 28th

Responsibilities:

Verify and process medication orders accurately and efficiently
Manage IV medications, pain control, antibiotic therapies, and other critical treatments
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacologic patient care
Document using EPIC EMR for all pharmacy activities
Adapt to a dynamic and evolving work environment during management transition
