About the Role

This role is responsible for the safe and accurate preparation of customized pharmaceutical formulations designed to meet individual patient needs. The Pharmacist will work within both sterile and non-sterile compounding areas while ensuring all preparations are completed according to established procedures and applicable regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and verify sterile and non-sterile compounded medications according to approved formulations, master worksheets, and established procedures.
  • Follow pharmacy SOPs, policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure compounding practices comply with USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> requirements.
  • Perform appropriate cleaning, garbing, and workspace preparation prior to compounding activities.
  • Apply proper aseptic technique throughout the sterile compounding process.
  • Complete pharmaceutical calculations and required compounding documentation accurately.
  • Safely operate and monitor compounding, production, and computerized equipment.
  • Maintain organized and properly prepared production areas.
  • Monitor processes and equipment to ensure established quality standards are consistently met.
  • Verify the quality, purity, potency, and accuracy of compounded preparations.
  • Conduct quality control testing and inspections as required.
  • Assist with pharmacy dispensing and operational needs during the assigned shift.
  • Provide appropriate patient counseling regarding compounded, prescription, and OTC medications.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving compounding practices, formulations, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development related to specialty compounding.

Schedule

MondayFriday, with multiple shifts available:

  • 8:00 AM4:30 PM
  • 9:00 AM5:30 PM
  • 10:30 AM7:00 PM

Candidates are welcome to indicate their preferred shift, but please note that shift preferences are not guaranteed and assignments will be based on the facility's operational and scheduling needs.

Qualifications

  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license
  • Recent pharmacy experience
  • Sterile compounding experience required
  • Knowledge and experience with aseptic technique
  • Familiarity with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
  • Ability to accurately perform calculations and maintain detailed documentation
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality

New graduates are welcome to apply if they hold an active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license and meet the position requirements.
