Inpatient Pharmacist | West Jefferson, North Carolina

Located in West Jefferson, NC, this 13-week contract opportunity seeks two skilled inpatient pharmacists to support a medical center in Boone, about two hours from Charlotte and Greensboro. The assignment begins Monday, November 9, with shifts during days and evenings, never extending past 9 p.m.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing excellent customer service to healthcare team members via phone and in person
• Verifying medication orders by scrutinizing patient allergies, drug interactions, and disease state considerations to ensure appropriate therapy
• Performing medication reconciliations and consulting with physicians, residents, and healthcare professionals as needed
• Checking the accuracy and safety of IV admixtures in accordance with USP 797/800 standards

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of inpatient pharmacy experience and be proficient with the EPIC electronic medical record system. Candidates must hold a valid North Carolina pharmacist license and reside more than 40 miles from the site to qualify.
