Travel Hospital Pharmacist | Whittier, California

A pharmacy professional is sought for a travel pharmacist assignment in a 150-bed community hospital located in Southern California, approximately two hours east of San Diego. This role provides an opportunity to work in a hospital setting supporting inpatient pharmacy operations on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and extends for at least 13 weeks.

Schedule and Hours:

• Monday through Thursday
• 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Some shared on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with protocols
• Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies
• Manage pharmacokinetics monitoring and adjustments
• Utilize Cerner electronic health records system for documentation and order processing

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active California pharmacist license
• Previous inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably within a hospital environment
• Strong familiarity with Cerner healthcare software is highly preferred
• Ability to start immediately
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills essential for interdisciplinary collaboration
