IV Sterile Compounding Hospital Pharmacy Manager in Cooperstown, NY

A leadership role is available for an experienced specialty pharmacy professional to manage and grow a specialty pharmacy team and operations. This position begins as a hybrid remote role based out of Oneonta, New York, providing flexibility while a new specialty pharmacy location in Utica is under development. Once the Utica location is built and licensed, the role will transition to a full onsite position, ideal for candidates comfortable with relocating or already located in the Utica area.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the specialty pharmacy team to ensure efficient and compliant workflow
• Manage clinical and operational aspects specific to specialty pharmacy, including sterile compounding processes
• Ensure compliance with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards such as URAC and ACHC
• Lead and develop pharmacy staff through coaching, training, and performance management
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and internal teams to optimize specialty medication use and prior authorization processes
• Contribute to building and shaping the new specialty pharmacy location and services

Qualifications:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Demonstrated specialty pharmacy experience (required)
• Pharmacy leadership or management experience (required)
• Ability and willingness to work in a hybrid remote model initially, transitioning to full onsite in Utica
• Strong operational and team management skills
• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards (URAC and ACHC preferred)
• Experience with prior authorization and specialty medication programs a plus
• Exposure to specialty disease states such as oncology, HIV, infusion therapies, or rare diseases preferred
• Excellent communication skills with patients, providers, and pharmacy staff

• Initial work model: Hybrid remote based in Oneonta, NY
• Future work model: Full onsite in Utica, NY upon new location opening
