Hospital IV Sterile Compounding Supervising Pharmacy Manager | Cooperstown, New York

A leadership role is available for an experienced specialty pharmacy professional eager to contribute to the development of a new specialty pharmacy. This position begins with a hybrid remote work model based in Oneonta, NY, providing flexibility as the specialty pharmacy location in Utica, NY, is under construction and licensing. Upon completion, the role will transition to a fully onsite leadership position in Utica, ideal for candidates comfortable with relocating or already residing in the area.

As Specialty Pharmacy Manager, you will utilize your clinical expertise and leadership skills to manage pharmacy operations and drive excellence within a growing specialty pharmacy environment. This is a contract role with options for temp to hire or direct hire employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the pharmacy team to achieve operational goals
• Ensure compliance with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards (URAC, ACHC)
• Oversee specialty medication management, including prior authorizations
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and internal teams to deliver exceptional care
• Support development of pharmacy processes aligned with specialty disease states such as oncology, HIV, infusion therapies, and rare diseases

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Required specialty pharmacy experience
• Prior leadership or management experience within a pharmacy setting
• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operational standards
• Strong communication skills with patients, providers, and staff
• Experience with specialty disease states and medication management preferred
• Ability and willingness to begin in a hybrid remote role and transition to onsite work in Utica

• Initial: Hybrid remote based in Oneonta, NY
• Future: Onsite full-time in Utica, NY after new location opening
