IV Sterile Compounding Inpatient Pharmacy Manager in Lakeview, OR
This role offers the opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a critical access hospital setting, supporting daily inpatient care and managing pharmacy staff. Serving as both the Director of Pharmacy and a working pharmacist, you will oversee pharmacy workflows, ensure compliance with clean room guidelines, and perform sterile compounding as needed in a 25-bed facility with a daily census averaging 10 patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the working Director of Pharmacy, managing daily inpatient pharmacy functions
- Oversee and support a team including two pharmacy technicians
- Perform sterile compounding adhering to USP 797 clean room standards
- Verify IV preparations checked by pharmacy technicians
- Manage pharmacy workflows and staff schedules efficiently
- Utilize Cerner for order entry and Omnicell for pharmacy automation
- Maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory pharmacy requirements
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Oregon pharmacist license is mandatory
- Strong inpatient pharmacy background with hands-on experience
- Proven pharmacy management experience, ideally in a hospital setting
- Proficiency in sterile compounding in accordance with USP 797
- Familiarity with Cerner order entry system and pharmacy automation tools
- Ability to lead and mentor pharmacy technicians and other staff
Schedule & Location:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No on-call duties
- Based in Lakeview, Oregon
- Contract to hire position for 13 weeks with the potential for direct hire
