Inpatient IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Manager in New Pine Creek, OR
This opportunity is for an experienced pharmacist to serve as a working Director of Pharmacy (DOP) in a critical access hospital setting. The facility operates a 25-bed inpatient unit with a daily census of approximately 10 patients. The position offers a contract-to-hire arrangement, providing a chance for direct hire after 13 weeks.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No on-call responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, managing staff and workflow
- Fulfill working DOP and staff pharmacist duties focused on inpatient care
- Perform sterile compounding as needed, adhering to USP 797 and clean room guidelines
- Review and verify intravenous medications prepared by pharmacy technicians
- Utilize Cerner for order entry and Omnicell automation systems for medication dispensing
Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon pharmacist license
- Proven inpatient pharmacy experience in hospital settings
- Demonstrated pharmacy management skills
- Competency in sterile compounding procedures, especially within clean room environments
Work Environment:
- Critical access hospital with a small pharmacy team, including two pharmacy technicians on site daily
- Collaborative and hands-on leadership role, combining clinical and administrative responsibilities
