Inpatient IV Sterile Compounding Supervising Pharmacy Manager - New Pine Creek, Oregon
A critical access hospital with a 25-bed capacity (daily census around 10 beds) is seeking a Pharmacy Manager who will serve as a working Director of Pharmacy. This role requires hands-on inpatient pharmacy duties combined with leadership responsibilities to manage and staff the pharmacy effectively.
The position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no on-call requirements, and is initially contracted for 13 weeks with the possibility of conversion to direct hire. The pharmacy team consists of two pharmacy technicians daily, supported by advanced automation systems such as Omnicell, and utilizes Cerner for order entry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership as the working Director of Pharmacy and staff pharmacist.
- Managing daily pharmacy operations and staff schedules.
- Performing sterile compounding tasks as necessary, adhering to USP 797 clean room guidelines.
- Overseeing and verifying intravenous preparations checked by pharmacy technicians.
- Ensuring quality and compliance within inpatient pharmacy services.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Inpatient pharmacy experience.
- Proven pharmacy management background.
- Competency in sterile compounding according to USP 797 standards.
- Valid Oregon pharmacist license.
- Proficiency with Cerner order entry system and Omnicell automation is preferred.
