IV Sterile Compounding Hospital Pharmacy Manager - Oneonta, NY

A specialty pharmacy leadership role is available for a dynamic professional to oversee and grow a developing specialty pharmacy operation. This position begins with a hybrid remote work model based in Oneonta, New York, offering flexibility during the initial phase of a new specialty pharmacy locations build-out. Upon completion and licensing of the new site, the role transitions to a fully onsite position in Utica, New York. This opportunity suits candidates comfortable with relocating or those already established in the Utica area.

This role demands a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of specialty pharmacy clinical practices and proven leadership skills to effectively manage a pharmacy team and drive operational performance in a fast-growing specialty pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily operations of the specialty pharmacy department
• Ensure compliance with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards such as URAC and ACHC
• Oversee specialty medication management, including prior authorizations and patient support
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and internal teams to optimize clinical outcomes
• Build and mentor a high-performing pharmacy team
• Contribute to the development and implementation of operational strategies for the new pharmacy site

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active, valid New York State Pharmacist License in good standing
• Demonstrated specialty pharmacy experience (required)
• Pharmacy leadership or management experience (required)
• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, URAC and ACHC preferred
• Experience with specialty disease states including oncology, HIV, infusion therapies, and rare diseases preferred
• Strong operational, organizational, and team management skills
• Excellent communication skills with patients, providers, and team members
• Willingness to work hybrid initially and transition to full onsite in Utica upon site opening
