Outpatient Pharmacy Manager - Orange City, IA

Lead the operations of a 340b retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital, serving as both a Pharmacy Manager and staff pharmacist. This role offers the opportunity to manage a focused team consisting of one pharmacist and two pharmacy technicians, contributing to efficient outpatient and clinic pharmacy services with a prescription volume averaging 140 daily.

Location: Orange City, IA
Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM 6:30 PM
• Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Occasional on-call duties (rare)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety
• Manage and support pharmacy staff to maintain high standards of service
• Utilize the Pioneer pharmacy computer system effectively for prescription processing and record keeping
• Ensure compliance with 340b program requirements and hospital policies
• Provide expert outpatient and clinic pharmacist services, including medication counseling and inventory management

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active and clear Iowa pharmacy license
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy settings
• Strong leadership and organizational skills to handle pharmacy management duties alongside staff pharmacist responsibilities
• Ability to work without PRN pharmacist support and adapt to the current team structure
