Oversee pharmacy operations in a dynamic post-acute specialty hospital with 25 staffed beds and an average daily census of 23. This contract opportunity calls for a Pharmacy Manager to lead medication management and pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital setting. The position requires at least 8 weeks of commitment and offers a structured schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekend, after-hours, and on-call responsibilities.

Location:

  • Sun Valley, NV

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 am 4:30 pm
  • Weekend/after-hours/on-call coverage as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify medication orders, ensuring appropriateness and safety.
  • Manage medication distribution across patient care units using systems like Pyxis.
  • Supervise and schedule pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory control, and management of controlled substances.
  • Enforce medication-use policies and engage in medication safety programs.
  • Ensure full compliance with state/federal regulations and hospital standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active, clear Nevada pharmacy license.
  • Proven experience in IV compounding.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations, preferably in inpatient or specialty hospital settings.
  • Experience utilizing pharmacy information systems such as Wellsky.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills.
  • Ability to manage weekend and on-call responsibilities effectively.

Additional Information:

  • Pharmacy staff currently includes one technician; pharmacist support is supplemented by a remote order entry service after hours.
  • PRN resources are available to support staffing needs.
  • No 340b experience required.
  • Automation system in use: Pyxis.
