Home Infusion Pharmacy Technician | Baldwinsville, New York
A specialized Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available in Baldwinsville, NY, offering Monday through Friday hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This direct hire position focuses on home infusion services and sterile compounding within a pharmacy setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pharmacists in daily operations ensuring safe and timely pharmaceutical service delivery.
- Process prescriptions, perform order entry, and document activities under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare and compound sterile medications adhering to USP standards, legal regulations, and accreditation guidelines.
- Maintain clean room environments and pharmacy equipment to uphold patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct quality assurance and control procedures to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Manage pharmacy inventory including ordering, receiving, and stocking of medications and supplies.
- Coordinate medication refills, deliveries, and logistical support to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Maintain accurate electronic records related to patients, pharmacy operations, and compliance.
- Provide professional communication with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams, escalating clinical issues as necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks including verification of authorizations and records management.
- Participate in performance improvement efforts by generating and maintaining operational reports.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid New York State pharmacy technician license.
- PTCB certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
- Completion of sterile compounding training.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug terminology, drug usage, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with USP policies and standards.
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in home infusion, sterile compounding, or specialty pharmacy environments.
