Pharmacy Technician Remote (Temp-to-Hire)

A leading healthcare organization is seeking two skilled Pharmacy Technicians to join their remote team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role offers the opportunity to support Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and provide critical operational assistance from anywhere in the US, as long as you hold a valid PTCB certification.

Location: Remote
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 11:30 AM8:00 PM ET or 9:30 AM6:00 PM ET
• Mandatory rotating weekends
• No day off unless emergency from 01/01/27 to 03/31/27
  Duration: 6-month contract (10/01/26 03/31/27) with potential for hire

Responsibilities:

• Review and process prior authorization requests using established policies and decision trees
• Triage and enter incoming prior authorizations from provider offices
• Support Medicare Part B medication prior authorizations and preferred product strategies
• Obtain clinical documentation from providers and hospitals necessary for authorization reviews
• Communicate authorization decisions and follow up with providers and members as needed
• Assist members and providers with alternative treatment options when required
• Provide operational support to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Physicians to ensure timely, accurate decision-making
• Serve as a point of contact for internal teams, external providers, and operational partners
• Support offshore clinical partners involved in utilization management pharmacy workflows
• Interpret plan benefits and enter specialty pharmacy overrides to support proper claim adjudication

Qualifications:

• PTCB certification required
• Minimum 3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Experience with Medicare Part B operations, utilization management, prior authorizations, medical benefits, or pharmacy help desk operations
• Familiarity with the Medicare population
• Strong computer skills and comfort working across multiple systems, including Google Workspace/G Suite
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Prior experience in utilization management and prior authorizations strongly preferred
