Inpatient IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician - Chicago, IL
This opportunity seeks a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient hospital pharmacy operations, including specialized sterile compounding tasks. The role requires dedication to accuracy in preparing IV admixtures, compound batches, and supporting crash cart readiness within a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in inpatient pharmacy operations, including medication preparation and distribution
- Perform sterile compounding in the clean room environment, adhering to safety and quality standards
- Prepare crash carts and ensure they are fully stocked and ready for emergencies
- Utilize Omnicell and auto cart fill systems to manage medication inventory
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient workflows and patient safety standards
Schedule & Location:
- Location: Chicago, IL
- Contract duration: 13 weeks with intent to hire
- Rotating shifts Monday through Friday: 7:00 AM3:30 PM, 9:00 AM5:30 PM, and 2:30 PM10:00 PM
- Rotating weekend shifts
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
- PTCB certification required
- Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in sterile compounding and preparing IV admixtures
- Experience with chemotherapy compounding is highly desirable
